The town of Bright Falls, nestled among the mountains and forests of the Pacific Northwest, is rocked by a series of ritualistic murders. Alan Wake, a writer trapped in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a dark novel in an attempt to change the reality around him and escape his prison. Fleeing the horror of the darkness that haunts him, Wake tries to maintain his sanity and defeat the devil at his own game.
Anderson and Wake are two heroes on different paths in two separate realities, but deep down they are connected by something they themselves cannot understand: their actions and deeds reflect each other... influencing the worlds around them.
Drawing power from a horror novel, otherworldly forces of darkness penetrate Bright Falls, poisoning the souls of the locals and threatening the loved ones of Wake and Anderson. Light is their weapon and refuge in the fight against darkness. Will Alan and Saga be able to escape the horror, where there are only monsters and victims, and become the heroes they are meant to be?
